i) Patch Panel Termination - The most important reasons to use patch panels include: Organization – A patch panel will be each to reach and see, and every cable is going into one central location. Having all the cables connected to one panel helps to keep cables from becoming tangled and messy. Patch panel ports are configured to accommodate Ethernet cables in an enterprise network. In an enterprise network, a patch panel serves as a sort of static switchboard, using cables to interconnect network computers within a LAN and to outside lines including the internet or other wide area networks (WANs).

ii) Cable Laying : Structured cabling is the design and installation of a cabling system that will support multiple hardware uses and be suitable for today's needs and those of the future. With a correctly installed system, current and future requirements can be met, and hardware that is added in the future will be supported. It is common to color-code patch panel cables to identify the type of connection, though structured cabling standards do not require it except in the demarcation wall field. Cabling standards require that all eight conductors in Cat 6/6A/7 cable be connected.

iii) Cable Patching / Rack Dressing: When network or optical cables are installed in a building or cabinet, the task of fitting cables into an organized bundle is called 'cable dressing'. This dressed bundle is called a 'loom'.

iv) Information Outlet Termination: In a data wiring system in a building, a connection device designed for a fixed location in which data wiring terminates; the outlet contains a female jack to receive a male plug that is inserted into it.

V) Network Switch Installation: A network switch is a computer networking device that connects devices together on a computer network by using packetswitching to receive, process and forward data to the destination device. Switches are different to routers.

Optical Fiber Cable

Optical fiber is used as a medium for telecommunication and computer networking because it is flexible and can be bundled as cables. It is especially advantageous for long-distance communications, because light propagates through the fiber with much lower attenuation compared to electrical cables.

i) Fiber Cable Laying: The methods used to place fiber optic cables in ducts are similar to those used to place copper cable. Optical cable is a high capacity transport medium that is sensitive to excessive pulling force, tight bends, and crushing forces, therefore, proper care must be taken during the installation procedure. Fiber optic cables can be pulled through ducts, which protect the cables once they are buried. ... Micro-trenching – Fiber optic cable is installed in pavement by way of a small groove in a street, sidewalk or parking lot.

ii) FiberBlowing: Cable blowing is an advance technique for cable installation in duct. This process is very fast comparative to traditional pulling and very effective for longer distance route. Cable blowing is the process of blowing optical fiber cable through a duct while simultaneously pushing the cable into the duct.

iii) Fiber Splicing: Splicing of optical fibers is a technique used to join two optical fibers. This technique is used in optical fiber communication, in order to form long optical links for better as well as long-distance optical signal transmission. Splicers are basically couplers that form a connection between two fibers or fiber bundles.

iv) OTDR: Fiber communication system maintenance depends on optical time domain reflectometers. An OTDR simply generates a pulse inside a fiber to be tested for faults or defects. Pulses are returned to the OTDR and their strengths are then measured and calculated as a function of time and plotted as a function of fiber stretch. The strength and returned signal tell about the location and intensity of the fault present. Not only maintenance, but also optical line installation services utilize OTDRs.

v) HDD Shot: Directional boring, also referred to as horizontal directional drilling (HDD), is a minimal impact trenchless method of installing underground utilities such as pipe, conduit, or cables in a relatively shallow arc or radius along a prescribed underground path using a surface-launched drilling rig.

Intercom System

An intercom (intercommunication device), talkback or door phone is a stand-alone voice communications system for use within a building or small collection of buildings. Its a two-way communication electronic device that contains circuitry for the purpose of transmitting and receiving audio and/or video transmissions.

Fire- Alarm

i) Addressable fire alarm: An addressable fire alarm system is made up of a series of fire detectors and devices that are connected back to a central control panel. With addressable systems, each device has an address or location, enabling the exact detector that was triggered to be quickly identified.

ii) Non-Addressable Alarm: Non Addressable Fire Alarm Systems. Cost effective, basic non addressable fire alarm control panels will provide sufficient protection for many businesses, including small offices, shops and restaurants. Interfaces to conventional detection systems can also be including using zone monitoring devices.
